A long journey helped by stepchange all the way

I had a major operation on my hip and right shin due to an rta in 1983 I was working as a truck driver in 2002 when I was laid off due to a company take over and got a job as a bus driver In 2003 I had the major operations on my legs and the one on my right shin went wrong and left me disabled and the bus company laid me off due to long term sick that’s when the troubles started with credit cards loans and overdrafts ! I was speaking to my credit card company about struggling to pay and the guy on the phone told me not to worry and gave me the details of a company that would help me ! that company became stepchange I am now debt free and have paid back £32k it was a long journey and an uphill struggle at times but you can do it with their help Reviewed on: 8th July 2020

Life Savers!

I have not got a bad word to say about StepChange, the are lovely, happy people that always have the best solution to hand. They’ve helped to get my life back on track after having many sleepless nights due to worrying about my finances. They’re prompt, polite and always on the end of the phone to offer guidance. I receive loads of emails with all the relevant information I need to keep things going strong and make sure I’m always up to date, I get emailed statements each month of my progress which is wonderful. Overall I couldn’t have asked for better people to help me. I suffer from anxiety and put off making the call for about 8 months, I really had nothing to worry about, they are a fantastic team of people who genuinely care and want to help. I’m very grateful. A crutch to keep you standing snd going forward

I got in bad dept thru thinking wrongly that the people I was dealing with in my aim of retiring earlier to help my wife who had cancer at the time and myself with a hip operation where honest people. I was wrong and got scammed out of my money, and now I'm paying my dept back with the expertise of step change, it's not easy for me as I will be paying back for 4yrs plus But with stepchange it's easier for me to manage so far Thanks Reviewed on: 8th July 2020
