Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Excellent Service

I can’t thank step change enough , I was at the end of my tether after my husband was medically retired and we went from a comfortable two wage household to just mine ! My financial life was in a terrible place before I contacted Stepchange. From that first telephone conversation, my financial life changed 100%, the help and advise I received was incredible, I was, overnight, back in charge of my finances and life.

Stepchange are a fantastic, helpful, charity. The help and advice they gave me changed my life overnight. I was in deep trouble with my financial situation until I contacted Stepchange. I was advised to change different ways of banking living expenses ect and suddenly I was back in control of my life, and all my desperate worries were dissolving month by month. I was starting to control my finances and it felt good. I could live again. I would not hesitate to advise anyone in a similar situation as mine was to contact Stepchange. After a lockdown hell and split from husband of 30 years, scared and worried about not having a roof over my children’s heads because of debt and seeing no way out. Wouldn't have been able to manage without them
