Retaking control

You've come to the end of your tether, swamped by red letters and final notices. So phone StepChange - one of the best half hours of your life. They sort out what you spend on what, what you owe, what you can afford to pay back after allowances are made for the amount you need to live on. Then they sort out the repayments (through them) and companies listen to them whereas they wouldn't listen to you, because they have standing. And the best bit (apart from the relief of finally doing something positive about things) is that they're a charity and won't charge you a penny. Reviewed on: 23rd April 2017

Step Change are an amazing organisation

Having been the victim of a sophisticated scam and lost large amounts of money, I turned to Step Change who from the outset were absolutely fantastic. I can't recommend them enough. All the staff were extremely sympathetic and were a life line in order for me to get my finances back in order. Reviewed on: 6th May 2026

I can finally breathe again

A massive relief

Very Impressed .

At last a way out

Spent years servicing a recycling debt , got to the point where all my wages went on bills and had to put all the months next month’s living expenses on credit cards ( circa £1000 a month , I had never misses any payments and my credit score was 999, The stark realisation came , as it simply could not carry on , Phoned step change who helped me enormously I my payments are now 20% of what they were , and can now actually start do live a little Reviewed on: 6th May 2026
