It was absolutely fantastic help from start to finish.

It was absolutely fantastic help from start to finish. It took 8 days in total. I'm sitting here now a lot happier than I was 3 weeks ago. They put me forward (against their recommendation) for a DRO, which was passed 2 weeks ago, and because I have their backing, I have been able to liaise with my creditors a lot easier, and they have actually helped me due to my underlying health issues. Thank you to them all from Stepchange and also Money Wellness (the people who organised my finances and submitted my DRO application) From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU. Theyve made such a big difference to my life

Unexpected things in life had caused me to get into debt. Although I had a good job I was unable to keep on top of things due to the living crisis. Due to the interest of credit cards I got to a point where each month I was only paying that and not the balance so was a never ending cycle. I was ashamed of this so didn’t speak up till it all got too much. I was recommended to step change by national debt line and was a very smooth process once I let them know my outgoings and income. They were so friendly, compassionate and friendly. My only regret is not reaching out for help prior to it as I was extremely stressed and unable to enjoy life. They take an affordable payment each month and with any additional income e.g a work bonus I’m able to pay it off quicker. It’s been less than 2 years and went from 8k debt, living pay check to paycheck to having less than 2k of debt left to pay. I am much more careful of what I’m spending since then and living a bit more comfortable now. Reviewed on: 23rd May 2025
