Great help from StepChange. After being diagnosed with a chronic medical condition and losing the ability to earn extra money, they gave us the chance to get our lives back on track and take control of our debts. They literally saved me,

They literally saved me, if Step change hasn’t been so supportive I’m sure I’d have lost my house. Through some really difficult times we made some bad financial choices trying to get by, monthly repayments on credit cards, catalogues etc. I was overdrawn every month, I’d be using all my money to pay the repayments. Eventually I had to either pay my mortgage or the credit cards, that’s where Stepchange helped. They weren’t judgmental, they listened and supported me to get back on my feet. Cannot recommend highly enough - make that call!

Struggling with debt and repeatedly trying to handle it myself had caused me a lot of stress and anxiety. This led to more debt as I tried to make myself feel better about it! Contacting StepChange and opening up to them really helped me from a mental perspective, and has helped me align what I pay back on a monthly basis. All agents I have spoken to have been fantastic; non-judgemental, empathetic and they all simply just want to help. I cannot recommend them highly enough for anybody who finds themselves in the situation I was. Mine was all self-inflicted, but again the agents' manner and professionalism breaks down the ego and pride element and helps you move forward and start to make a change. Reviewed on: 21st May 2024
