Retaking control

You've come to the end of your tether, swamped by red letters and final notices. So phone StepChange - one of the best half hours of your life. They sort out what you spend on what, what you owe, what you can afford to pay back after allowances are made for the amount you need to live on. Then they sort out the repayments (through them) and companies listen to them whereas they wouldn't listen to you, because they have standing. And the best bit (apart from the relief of finally doing something positive about things) is that they're a charity and won't charge you a penny. Reviewed on: 23rd April 2017

I was stuck in a vicious cycle of debt, this was making me increasingly anxious and depressed, I put off contacting step change so many times but when I finally did contact them they were very understanding of my situation, they gave me a number of solutions and helped me every step of the way, I now pay an affordable monthly payment and honestly I feel like I have my life back.
