Retaking control

You've come to the end of your tether, swamped by red letters and final notices. So phone StepChange - one of the best half hours of your life. They sort out what you spend on what, what you owe, what you can afford to pay back after allowances are made for the amount you need to live on. Then they sort out the repayments (through them) and companies listen to them whereas they wouldn't listen to you, because they have standing. And the best bit (apart from the relief of finally doing something positive about things) is that they're a charity and won't charge you a penny. Reviewed on: 23rd April 2017

From treading water to making inroads

I had been struggling with debt for years, simply treading water and paying nothing off - just struggling to pay the interest. Then, I discovered StepChange. They made my options clear, guided me through the process and now I’m making real inroads into paying my debt. Do not hesitate, there is no judgement only help.

I was at my lowest, drowning in debt left by my ex-husband and living from month to month only paying minimum payments. The shame I felt was as overwhelming as the mountain of debt, until I talked to StepChange. The lady I spoke to was absolutely amazing.
