Can't thank step change enough

Step change has been a life changer for me and my family. We had been struggling to make ends meet and something had to change, I found step change and thought it couldn't hurt to try. I filled out the info online and after that received a phone call offering me the different routes I could go down,and which would be best for me. I pay a set amount every month and it's what I can afford you fill out an affordability which takes note of everything you pay out and I think it's great. Every year you do a check to make sure that amount is still ok and affordable. You can see on your account how much has been paid how long you'll be paying. It's given me and my family relief. I don't hear from my creditors I just get a yearly letter from them after step change has put in how much is going to who. I would highly recommend them friendly and so helpful the online form is easy and the page is easy to use. Reviewed on: 6th June 2025

I highly recommend step change

Step change were there when I needed help to manage my debts. I was caught in the trap of never being able to clear my credit card debts because of high interest rates. I felt sick every time a bill arrived and fearful of what would happen as I got closer to not being able to make the minimum payments, not only for the credit cards, but also for house and car expenses and food. i felt ashamed to be in that position but step change staff were supportive from my very first call. There was no judgement, just support to plan a budget, even allowing a little for pocket money for the children, and health costs. I’d stopped getting prescriptions as I couldn’t afford them but the plan allowed me to pay for a monthly prepayment certificate. The relief of not being chased by creditors was immeasurable and each year I was able to increase my payment a little, eventually reducing the number of years I had to pay by four. I’m so pleased I was able to clear my debts and without the support of step change I don’t know where I’d be now. Reviewed on: 6th June 2025
