Help When You Need It Most

A godsend in this current climate

Like many in the current economic climate, I have been experiencing financial difficulties, with the anxieties that these have invoked. The advisor that I spoke with at StepChange did much to reassure me and provided no-nonsense advice for getting my finances back in some sort of order. The relief that I felt at getting my concerns voiced and listened to, with the practical steps suggested that I take have helped lift some of the pressure that I have been feeling. There’s still a long way to go, but now that I’ve made the first ‘step’ then I feel less anxious about tomorrow. The service that they provide (and it’s free) is a godsend to individuals like myself who are feeling the impact of this current government’s economic policy, where those with little are being squeezed ever tighter. I've got mental health back.

they don't judge you and are trained in the Law. You learn how to manage with what you have.. It's how are grandparents lived. You appreciate life with less money but enough to get by. You are not alone and they are a life saver. I'm still paying small amounts, I still owe thousands with the bank but they support your back. Reviewed on: 10th May 2024

Post bereavement finacial debt

I got myself in financial trouble when my husband died and StepChange were able to reassure me that I actually wasn’t in as much trouble as I thought, they were very sympathetic and understanding and have sorted out a payment plan that I can afford. I was on a Debt Management Plan for Many Years..

I was on a Debt Management Plan for some Years but they helped me by working out what i could Afford to pay Each Month and I Payed it Each Month and having regular Review's making sure I could afford my Commitment, StepChange Contacted my Debtors there were Three and gave them my statement of Earnings and what i had left over to pay between them and they accepted it, As i mentioned i had regular review's and Eventually i was Debt Free. Before i had contacted StepChange I contacted my Debtors and Offered what i could Afford They wouldn't accept it, As StepChange is a reputable Debt Management Organisation My Debtors accepted my Payment Plan and it was less than i Offered in the beginning, But Eventually i was Debt-Free and I Love it. It's Such a Relief, I am Really Thankful for the Help i Received From StepChange they made it so Easy and i would recommend them to any one that had Debt Problems. Reviewed on: 10th May 2024

Paid off debt quicker than the schedule. Even received overpayment back promptly. Very thankful for helping during the difficult pandemic period. Staff are very helpful and kind. Very Professional in their job. It helped me a lot especially in dealing with my problems in financial worries.
