Retaking control

You've come to the end of your tether, swamped by red letters and final notices. So phone StepChange - one of the best half hours of your life. They sort out what you spend on what, what you owe, what you can afford to pay back after allowances are made for the amount you need to live on. Then they sort out the repayments (through them) and companies listen to them whereas they wouldn't listen to you, because they have standing. And the best bit (apart from the relief of finally doing something positive about things) is that they're a charity and won't charge you a penny. Reviewed on: 23rd April 2017

Engaging with step change is the best decision I mad...

Engaging with step change is the best decision I made to finally address my debts. They were clear with all choices available and the impact this would have on myself so I could choose the best option. They then fully liaised with the companies to set this up and agree it, I just pay them one sum each month and they sort the rest. Debt Management.

I have been with Stepchange for a number of years now and when I first got in touch with them I was worried sick about not being able to cope with the debt I had. They helped me sort out my finances with the companies I owed money to and arranged a Debt Management Plan for me. They certainly made my life better and were not judgemental in the way they dealt with me. I would certainly recommend anyone who finds themselves with debt problems to get in touch.
