Step Change gave me my life back.

I was left struggling following leaving my husband as I was a victim of domestic abuse, step change helped from the first contact, as I struggled with my emotions they allowed me to carry out the Majority of the application online and followed up by a very short phone call. At all times they have been very compassionate, and understanding the process of arranging a debt management plan was really easy and set up in no time at all. They carried out all the contract with credit agencies and kept me updated all the way. I wouldn’t have been able to see light at the end of the tunnel with out the professionalism I now believe I’m a survivor of abuse rather than a victim from the confidence they have given me. I was in a lot of debt and contacted Stepchange as the debt was affecting me. After going through what I owed and setting up a debt plan for me I felt a weight lift off my shoulders and could concentrate on what was important such as my mortgage without having to worry about my debt as I knew how much money I would have left every month and knew my debt was reducing. I was unsure about debt management and was more than a little embarrassed to be in a position where I needed help (I am 70). Step Change were easy to contact and it was straightforward to provide the information that was required. Felt embarrassed about speaking to a person about my debt but I decided to look up stepchange online and complete the full application in online. They were brilliant from the start. I told them the debt I had. They gave me some breathing space so my creditors could give me time to sort out the finances and have managed the whole thing for me. Contacting my creditors and telling them what I can afford and any questions I managed to fjnd the answer on their website but if I needed to call , the one time I did need to to explain a bit of detail they were super.
