Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Amazing! Thank you for everything.

I was at my lowest and almost lost my home due to my relationship breaking down. The ladies and gents I’ve dealt with at StepChange were amazing. From day one until right now, every call has been friendly, personable, and empathetic. At one point I had to reduce my payments by two thirds, but as long as lines of communication are kept open and they are kept updated, they were able to keep helping me. I am now one payment away from clearing my debt plan and I can’t praise StepChange enough for all of their help and support through it all. Got to a stage when couldnt face the growing mail getting from the creditors. I knew I had to di something so took the courage to speak with Stepchange,in the end I had nothing to worry about as they made you feel at ease and always talked you through everything and helped in any way that they could.
