Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Patient, sympathetic and friendly advisors.

Patient, sympathetic and friendly advisors. Who helped to organise my debts and incoming finances to enable me to become debt free. I telephoned initially without being able to see a way out of debt. The advisors I spoke to on my journey were very helpful and adjusted payments easily if I was in a better or worse financial position. Luckily I had a pay increase at work and told StepChange, they increased the payments to my debtors easily which enabled me to become debt free quicker. Reviewed on: 1st June 2025

Absolutely fantastic!

They have been excellent. I did look at debt management company but about 30% of the amount I would be paying to them to clear my debts would be going to them as fees. I highly recommend Stepchange.

I highly recommend Stepchange if you have and are worried about debts. I've had a debt management plan for 9 months now and pay a monthly affordable amount. I don't get phone calls or letters from creditors anymore. Once you complete the easy online forms with your financial info Stepchange contact your creditors for you with your budget info and how much you can afford to pay. Providing you keep up with payments things are less & less stressful from then on. I am now free of worry & feel back in control thanks to Stepchange. Reviewed on: 31st May 2025
