Worst service I've ever had from Tesco

Received an email telling me to cancel my auto-renewal "before 11th August", did so on 2nd August for them to charge me £220 two days later. Couldn't speak to anyone on the phone, emails went ignored, until I was eventually fobbed off to 'Rock Insurance' who "declined to uphold my complaint". am incredibly disappointed with Tesco Travel Insurance. I was misinformed by their representatives, who assured me that I would be covered for a damaged passport, only for my claim to be denied. As a result, I missed my flight and suffered additional issues, including a damaged phone, which was also not covered. The lack of transparency and the incorrect information provided by the customer service team has caused me significant stress and financial loss. I trusted Tesco to provide the support I needed during a difficult time, but they failed to deliver. I would strongly advise against using their services, as their insurance coverage seems unreliable and their customer service completely unhelpful. Reviewed on: 26th March 2025

Turned down due to their new underwriter!

Had annual travel insurance last year £545 sent us a renewal £845 contacted them to add cruise cover - due to medical conditions (no change from last year) would not insure as have new underwriters - so why offer renewal, waste of time! Would not recommend Reviewed on: 25th January 2025

Please do NOT buy from them

I cannot stress enough that people should not buy insurance from them. I know Tesco / AXA is a big name and you think you are buying from a renowned brand, but honestly they operate like fraudsters. They will make you wait for months for a decision, I mean literally months, and then come up with the dumbest excuse not to give you a payout. Mine was as genuine a case as anything, and they refused! Honestly I beg people not to buy insurance from them. Reviewed on: 7th September 2024

Travel insurance that doesn't insure your holiday?

Awful service, my claim was declined. Our connecting flight was cancelled, we tried to find another way to Italy to no avail, after 3 days we had to cancel our accommodation, which Tesco/Axa said they won't cover us and our insurance claim has been declined. I have complained and asked to appeal this decision, but i am still waiting to hear back. Save your money and go elsewhere, shocking service & i won't be renewing any of the insurance policies i have with them. Reviewed on: 28th August 2024

The online process was straightforward, and I found the coverage options to be comprehensive and competitively priced. Fortunately, I didn’t need to make a claim during my trip, but knowing I was covered provided peace of mind throughout my travels. YOU'RE NOT COVERED FOR ANY PRE-BOOKED

YOU'RE NOT COVERED FOR ANYTHING BOOKED BEFORE YOU TRAVEL!!! I purchased the 'Tesco Bank Backpacker Travel Insurance' for my trip in case anything unexpected happened, something did happen and I was not covered! You're not insured for anything you pre-book, only expenses incurred. So if anything goes wrong you won't get your money back on your travel or accommodation costs. Don't make the same mistake as I did. Go with someone else. I booked all my flights and accommodation before I went. A destination in Vietnam was flooded so I didn't fly there and had to make new plans. Because I booked this BEFORE, according to the policy I was not covered.
