I recently traveled to Spain and decided to get travel insurance through Tesco Bank. The online process was straightforward, and I found the coverage options to be comprehensive and competitively priced. Fortunately, I didn’t need to make a claim during my trip, but knowing I was covered provided peace of mind throughout my travels. Overall, my experience with Tesco Bank travel insurance was positive, and I would consider using them again for future trips. Reviewed on: 13th April 2024

YOU'RE NOT COVERED FOR ANY PRE-BOOKED

YOU'RE NOT COVERED FOR ANYTHING BOOKED BEFORE YOU TRAVEL!!! I purchased the 'Tesco Bank Backpacker Travel Insurance' for my trip in case anything unexpected happened, something did happen and I was not covered! You're not insured for anything you pre-book, only expenses incurred. So if anything goes wrong you won't get your money back on your travel or accommodation costs. Don't make the same mistake as I did. Go with someone else. I booked all my flights and accommodation before I went. A destination in Vietnam was flooded so I didn't fly there and had to make new plans. Because I booked this BEFORE, according to the policy I was not covered. The case took ages to get reviewed, only to get declined. Reviewed on: 21st February 2024

Failed on promise to get back

I submitted a claim for reimbursement for flight to Uganda as unable to travel due to wife’s tumour diagnosis now 2 weeks and despite promises to get back within 5 days have heard nothing Reviewed on: 30th September 2023

Very comprehensive annual travel insurance

I would never have thought of looking at Tesco for travel insurance and it certainly isn’t the cheapest. If you travel regularly it is important to get good cover that you are confident in. Tesco’s travel insurance is very thorough and even gives you 24 access to a British doctor via an app if you are become unwell and need advice. Since Covid I have paid particular attention to all the clauses that I used to skim through every year and Tesco’s policy gives me the peace of mind that I want for another year of travel. Simple Service

Excellent travel insurance

Brilliant travel insurance.I was so surprised to get a fantastic quote for a trip to usa.We have complex medical conditions and the price was over half of what others were quoting.The added bonus of free full covid cover was also such a relief.Thanks tesco bank! Reviewed on: 12th May 2022

WOW. Beyond shocking. Go anywhere else but here.

I took out an insurance policy with Tesco but then realised I could go on a cheaper tier with them. So I cancelled my first policy to take out a new one. I didn't receive a refund for the first one and have been told twice that the money should be in my account any day now. Still waiting... To top it off I spoke to the team via Facebook as I was told by the telephone team that there is no email support (in 2017...) who then asked me to confirm confidential details via FACEBOOK and then told me I would need to telephone the customer service team. When I telephoned the extremely incompetent customer service team they told me that there is no Tesco Bank facebook page, even though I spoke to the team via their official Facebook page. I am just glad that all I'm trying to do it get a refund and not make a claim. Good luck to anyone who presents the customer service team with a real issue! Reviewed on: 23rd June 2017
