Tesco cancelled my insurance with 3 days notice, over a weekend, because they incorrectly believed the house had been empty for 6months
They had inputted a date on their computer incorrectly as It was actually only 5months and I had the paperwork to prove it.
The house sale was completing in 2 weeks and I was forced to re-insure with another insurer just to cover the last 2 weeks of ownership , on a Saturday when most brokers were closed . All v stressful.
I got my apology from them for their mistake in the end but only after they dug out transcripts of my telephone call.
Ludicrously poor service to the extreme and such stubbornness or to accept their own error

Following a paint spillage I had to make a claim on my insurance (the first one in about 20 years). I rang up the claims dept at Tesco and was expecting 101questions and realms of paper work - I couldn't have been more wrong. The lady I spoke to was friendly and sympathetic, she dealt with everything over the phone and my claim was sorted and settled within a week :)

Have used Tesco for a few yrs now, fortunately I have not had the need to claim.
However when renewal time comes along they send me a letter, and this time I had to make some alterations, and the call centre answered really quickly, and the advisor was extremely helpful and friendly.

As it's my first renewal for home insurance I thought I might have to play the renewal price game, but Tesco gave me a fair renewal price in line with any other company, and the renewal was painless. I've knocked a point off as last year's payment credit card had expired, and I have to call to update to a new one as opposed to just entering online which is mildly annoying.
