We had to make a claim on our home insurance after a car drove into our house. I have been shocked and appalled by how badly the claim has been handled. It has made an already stressful situation more stressful than necessary. The level of customer service is atrocious. I would never get this product again!

I have been a Tesco home insurance customer for over 10 years and when I bought the policy for the first time, it was great value for money.
Because of my trust in them, I did not realised that my premiums have gone sky high, over £80 a month, my fault for not checking.
When I confronted them, they could not care less and on to top it up, I have to pay £170 cancellation.
I went back to their website, to try to get a quote, out of curiosity and to my surprise, a new quote was only £17 a month.
These people do not give a rat’s arse about loyal customers.
Never again, I will be buying anything from them.

We have phoned up twice in three years to check if some minor damage was covered by the insurance. The damage was not covered and we never made a claim. Image our surprise when we get a phone call from Tesco's to tell us we are statistically a greater risk and for the 8 months remaining on our policy we have to pay an extra 20%. This means we lost our no claims bonus for enquiring about minor damage. A complete scam.

May 2017 and a pipe burst in my mother's home. The damage was extensive. The repairs required were a joinery repair. Some plastering, a redecorate and new carpets. To date the decorating and carpets have still yet to be done! Cunningham Lindsey who act on Tescos behalf have been absolutely dire, ignoring emails.
All excess matters were met and settled. A really poor service and set up. We are now going to involve the Financial Ombudsman.

Even after speaking to my contractor, they twisted his words and are refusing to pay out. Disgusted at the way we were treated and the poor outcome.

I have tesco home insurance for years have never claimed and nothing in my home has changed and today 2/5/2018 i was quoted a renewal price if £ 602.00 what was last years price £177.52 the reason they said they no longer have the underwriter who covered my policy I'm appalled at the £423.48 price increase.

I had a leak for waste pipe in January. Moved to a hotel in feb for 7 weeks and job still not sorted. Keep getting passed back to loss adjusters to assist and they have also been a nightmare. Moved home last wed as had enough and currently living in a bathroom nightmare with a 15 yr old. No one will help, keep getting passed from pillar to post. Would I use you again? No... I pay you my premiums but yous couldn’t give a toss! My family has been living like pigs!

Tesco cancelled my insurance with 3 days notice, over a weekend, because they incorrectly believed the house had been empty for 6months
They had inputted a date on their computer incorrectly as It was actually only 5months and I had the paperwork to prove it.
The house sale was completing in 2 weeks and I was forced to re-insure with another insurer just to cover the last 2 weeks of ownership , on a Saturday when most brokers were closed . All v stressful.
I got my apology from them for their mistake in the end but only after they dug out transcripts of my telephone call.
Ludicrously poor service to the extreme and such stubbornness or to accept their own error

Following a paint spillage I had to make a claim on my insurance (the first one in about 20 years). I rang up the claims dept at Tesco and was expecting 101questions and realms of paper work - I couldn't have been more wrong. The lady I spoke to was friendly and sympathetic, she dealt with everything over the phone and my claim was sorted and settled within a week :)

Have used Tesco for a few yrs now, fortunately I have not had the need to claim.
However when renewal time comes along they send me a letter, and this time I had to make some alterations, and the call centre answered really quickly, and the advisor was extremely helpful and friendly.
