Wife lost her phone whilst out walking, immediately contacted Tesco home insurance to raise a claim, from the very 1st moment i felt to be a criminal, I was bombarded with tasks to do before they would pay anything, it took a total of 7 weeks for Tesco to agree to pay out for my loss, I constantly had to chase for an update not once did Tesco contact me 1st, the last conversation I had was “we are still waiting on some information “ they requested this 5 weeks previous and I sent immediately, when challenged they just said “ok send me your bank details and the money will be in within 3-5 working days “ the only product I will ever buy again from Tesco is cheap Gin and Larger when on offer Reviewed on: 14th June 2024

I got the emergency cover and they were not able to send me an engineer. they told me to get my own engineer and they were gonna refund me the invoice. I paid the invoice and they did not read found me the money for the emergency. I’ve been waiting two months and nothing. Reviewed on: 18th April 2024

Was offered £3,500 for damage to my home didn’t accept as I knew it would cost me double this. I sent estimate of costs which was actually double the offer then was told because my parquet was glued it’ll cause damage to the building (I’m on ground floor) and I’m not entitled to a penny. How can you offer £3,500 then say no you’re not covered. Glue will cause damage to building!!!!!!! Tesco home insurance should be investigated, I’m taking this to the media. Emergency cover useless

The phones are not answered in an emergency . The 3rd party repairs are not friendly .my gas was cut off out of spite rarther than spend 10mins to fix the problem. Cannot get my heating back on as no one answers the phone . Avoid at all costs Reviewed on: 1st November 2023

Worst customer service I have ever experienced from a financial institute / supplier / insurance company. Everytime you phone up expect to be on hold for at least 45 mins. Expect to be transferred, and put on hold again, during every call. The emergency cover they sell is provided through another party - took 3 months to fix and emergency leak in my home. Staff do not listen and are intent on talking over you resulting in false information / actions. Do not touch! Reviewed on: 18th October 2023

Zero reminder of impending renewal. Premium had doubled. No explanation. Clearly seeking to exploit laziness or otherwise of customers. I know all insurance firms do this, but the brazen attempt to quietly rip me (and I presume plenty of others) off is enough to warrant this review Reviewed on: 12th October 2023
