Review of the thinkmoney, Current Account:

Dishonest bank

1
Dear Sir(s) I’m writing this email to expose what I consider disgusting and unacceptable behaviour of Thinkmoney towards my person as customer. Thinkmoney is been dishonest and deceitful breaching rules and regulations under the Financial Ombudsman and the Financial Conduct Authority. Both regulators are aware of this situation and formal complaints was raise. Financial Ombudsman was raise this concerns whit Thinkmoney. Over 3 weeks ago I was denied access to the thinkmoney app. After several calls to customer service to find out what the issue or any explanation for this I was neglected and misinformed. In different occasions I was told that was technical issue; I was told someone will contact me ; I was told that in 7 days I will have resolution for this situation. All of this was lies and only happen for thinkmoney take advantage of my lack of information. I was provide whit any information why my account was blocked. Not aware of this and expecting funds to be transfer to my account I trust in thinkmoney and believe they should behave in good faith. I was wrong. After confirmation the funds was paid on my account I did check and for my surprise the same funds was not showing. I contact again thinkmoney to raise my concerns and once again I was neglected and no explanation given. Thursday 23 March I received letter from thinkmoney informing my account will be closed on 26th March. I call again and I was informed that restrictions was in place in my account and I wasn’t able to access my funds. Thinkmoney know from the beginning 3 weeks ago that my account will be closed and restrictions was in place. But they hide that from me and dint disclose that information. Knowing that thinkmoney accepted funds to be transfer to my account when the same was blocked already. Funds that wasn’t not showing on my balance. Thinkmoney with bad intention denied access to this funds and what they decided was closed my account. This is unacceptable and show lack of customer care. This show how dishonest and deceive its thinkmoney. I have family to feed and bills to pay. My soon is in hospital and I can’t provide better options because thinkmoney left me in a very difficult financial hardship. I will make sure the consequences resulting for this will be thinkmoney responsibility and should be thinkmoney accountable for it. Whit this in mind and whit respective complaints to Financial Ombudsman and FCA I intend to proceed whit legal action and expose the situation whit the collaboration of Financial Times editor who been in touch regarding this. Never profits should be above of any human be. This is completely unacceptable and disgusting behaviour. Regards Jorge Ferreira Sent from my iPhone Reviewed on: 26th March 2023

A great account to keep you on track, but beware that the card issued on the account is prepaid card wich means your bank can not be verified by credit searches, and as such you can NOT apply for credit products using this account, or use any of the slice payment systems such as zilch, clearpay etc Reviewed on: 7th August 2021

Can Send Money Anywhere Anytime Apart From Where I Want When I Want

1
Ring up to do do an international transfer they say. So I did - Tuesday morning at 9am. Got through to someone at 9.25am. 'You will be called by lunchtime by the appropriate team.' Lunchtime - no response. Called. Told 'Call back promised by end of business banking...' Nope. Following day - 8am called, 8.10am registered a complaint. Told I would be called back that day. Lunchtime, still no response. (Called 11.30 - got through at 11.55 - was told, after 3 attempts of agent trying to connect me to team unsuccessfully - that the team had been messaged, were aware of me, and would call me.' Two hours later - still nothing. Called again, tried to put me through again, no response, will call me back. Now, day 3 and 2.30pm and still no call, still no transfer, still no support, 'but they are aware of you...' How hard is it to pick up a phone for crying out loud. Shocking. Their customer service hold statement: 'Use the Think Money App to send money anytime - anywhere....' MISLEADING - ANYWHERE IN THE UK IT SHOULD SAY!!! Avoid. There is much better out there. Angry, annoyed, frustrated, had to call several times, and absolutely terrible, considering I can send money anytime, anywhere, yet can't send to where I want, when I want. This company is so incompetent and misleading, im absolutely baffled what the charges are for on the account because the service is extremely poor, the time frames set for dealing with issues are never met, the staff just tell you anything to get you off the phone, after nearly 3 weeks i am still waiting for correspondence regarding an unauthorized payment and a complaint i raised 2 weeks ago still havent been contacted despite the 3 day time frame .... i have opened another account and cant wait to receive a professional forthcoming service Reviewed on: 21st May 2021

AVOID THHIS BANK AT ALL COSTS!!!

1
AVOID THIS BANK AT ALL COSTS!!! They charge a £15 a month (originally £17.50), for their 'services' which to be honest, many other banks offer for FREE or actually give you interest for. If we are going into the next major recession you may wish to save yourself nearly £200 a year. I was obligated to change to ThinkMoney through a Gregory Pennington debt consolidation plan. Sure they offer some discounts and perks. Sometimes okay but very often ridiculously long wait times to phone, (today 33 mins though understandable with CORVID I concede but his was the case way before this year sometimes) and if your living hand to mouth just to ask them to give you some available funds so you can eat that they try to put aside for the fee asap. Sometimes polite but often pretty abrupt and rude. Honestly, save yourself a buck and go with someone else, I've wanted to change since before lock-down, only myself and my credit rating to blame that I cant easily switch. I ruffly calculate I've paid them nearly £1500 the past seven years for the privileged of asking them to hold off on my management fee when I've got some basic income and need to prioritise my own funds. It just feels like a scam TBH that I should have got out of years ago! so no, don't fall for their 'business model' and spread the word. I guarantee they wont put this one on the front page.
