I have had both my own house insurance and insurance for my property portfolio with HFIS and Total Landlord Insurance, earlier this year my own house ins came up for renewal which in the past I had renewed automatically but i had moved to a new house which involved a new policy during the usual questions from HFIS member of staff I started to ask some questions myself regarding the level of cover relating to high value items, I could not get a straight answer from the person I was dealing with, therefore cancelled the policy and put review on line which quickly brought a phone call from a senior manager who persuaded me to change my review to a more flattering one and also re instate my policy, the next day I was contacted by the member of staff who I had dealt with originally who when asked the same questions could not give a straight answer. I tried in vain to speak to a senior manager who I had met at n National Landlords Assn meeting but he refused to speak to me or return my calls, HFIS and TLLIns love to present themselves as professional and responsive, I have found this not to be the case in recent times and I am now considering placing my business for my property portfolio with another provider.
