A great local Building Society

Vernon has a good presence in the area around Stockport with nice premises and friendly staff. Their website is easy to navigate, and their excellent "Regular Savings" account was easy to open and operate online. They are incredibly supportive of the communities in which they are based, and are a real asset to the high streets in which they are sited. Reviewed on: 13th January 2026

Friends & Neighbours

Not only are Vernon local, they are part of the community. A bit like Friends and Neighbours. I have mentioned their Opening Hours previously but without response.
