Zempler Bank offer two personal current accounts – the Freedom account and the Activeplus account.

The Freedom account has no monthly fees and the Activeplus account is £5.95 per month. There may be fees for sending money and withdrawing or paying in cash. Both accounts come with the option to add on an overdraft.

Honestly, Zempler has been amazing!

Honestly, Zempler has been amazing! I’ve had a rocky journey with trusting banks & since joining and using Zempler services in 2021 I haven’t considered leaving. They are very transparent with everything and if they can’t answer something they won’t hesitate to let you know and try and find a solution as soon as possible. I would recommend Zempler to anyone and when they eventually introduce Apple / Google pay my life will get even easier! Reviewed on: 28th March 2025

How is Zemplar getting an award!?

Random charges, endless phone holds, the app often cannot fetch my details, whole weekends unable to bank, and when you try to switch banks, they're one of the few who haven't signed up to the current account switch service. They're bribing customers with an entry into a £1000 prize draw "with every vote cast". GO with Starling - they're much better, cheaper, easier, ore accessible and have way better features.
