It was easy to open the saving account on line. However, interest was slow to change when the base rate was increased. When needed to close account, can't do with transfer of balance to nominated account must wait for a cheque. Not at all convenient and it's not great if you need money quickly. You can transfer out to nominate account electronically but must leave at least £500 in the account then close it and wait for a cheque. These days, one still have to do this is not exactly great. Excellent and fast service on phone with Julie and mail with Lucy followed by another quick call and receipt of my new account passbook and information on the very next day. Wonderful friendly people. I may be in Leicestershire and only servicable by phone, but you all made me feel like I am sitting next to you. Reviewed on: 2nd May 2023

I like the "traditional Building Society" approach, i.e. offers savers reasonable interest rates (and I assume mortgage holders the same) without spending money on extra frills, dividends or other services. Reviewed on: 24th April 2023
