I like the type of experience where you have your money in the account in a matter of hours, then you have a direct debit that flows out of your account every month without ever needing to phone or chase anything. I recently took out a plata loan and have regretted it. I recently lost my father and explained this to plata they were not very empathetic. When payment was 1 day late I was called very early in the morning the day after the payment was due where I was told I needed to make immediate payment. They call profusely and leave many messages which is very stressful especially considering it is only the day after a due payment. Reviewed on: 17th March 2026

The Plata application process was clear, fast and easy. T&C's clear throughout and communication/ customer service was and continues to be excellent. Platas services/ websites are very straightforward and user friendly, re-payments plans and expectations are comprehensive. All in all a fantastic option for those seeking a personal loan. I was looking for a good interest reasonable value loan to take my mother to China as a surprise and Plata was there ticking all the right boxes. I would not hesitate to use them again if needed.
