Nothing but stress

If I could give them 0 stars I would If I could give them 0 stars I would My house got burgled and both my vehicles was stolen one was found burnt out and the other hasn’t been recovered phoned insurance the day it happened which happened to be a bank holiday . Phoned again once they were open to sort 2 courtesy cars out . Get the confirmation for both booking proceed to collect both due to my husband being main driver on one vehicle and me on the other but both policies in my name get to enterprise have a nightmare because you can’t have 2 cars in one name , relay this to acorn it then takes them 2 WEEKS to sort a courtesy car from miles away when I’m surrounded by car rental places. Have the car for 2 weeks have validation interview a week ago they come last night out of blue to collect courtesy car but the team I needed to speak to had already left. Ring today claim has been validated but the inspector hasn’t done his report yet so they can’t make us an offer it will be 4 weeks Saturday and still no further to being paid out. No1 at acorn have a clue what on earth they are doing we are now car less again and nowhere near to this all being sorted I would never ever recommend acorn to anyone unless u want a load of unnecessary stress. Once it is all sorted I am taking it up with ombudsman due to the fact for the first 2 weeks I spoke to acorn 74 times. I have 2 policies with them and they wasn’t cheap, insurance are meant to be there to take stress away when something like this happens not add too it ! Read more Read less

Acorn insurance-just don’t!

Acorn insurance….a huge, HUGE disappointment So, so disappointed in Acorn. I honestly thought they were better than the other insurance companies, turns out they just... Acorn insurance….a huge, HUGE disappointment So, so disappointed in Acorn. I honestly thought they were better than the other insurance companies, turns out they just as bad! (If not worse!) I first brought my taxi insurance with Acorn two years ago. I had two ‘open’ claims awaiting resolution. In one, the third party had already been convicted of drunk driving and driving under the influence of a proscribed drug. In the other, the third party was convicted of careless driving and had been sent on a driving awareness course by Sussex Police. Clearly both cases were demonstrably not my fault. Due to inter-insurance arguing the cases were only resolved recently. As promised my two year no claims bonus was reinstated by Acorn. Over the two years my premiums totalled over TEN THOUSAND POUNDS! As Acorn promised when I originally took out the policy, a recalculation based on my now reinstated 2 year NCB was done. Acorn offered about £650! It should have been several thousand based on Acorns on discount policy. I have tried repeatedly to get this reviewed. I have sent numerous e-mails. I have made numerous phone calls…… I sent repeated attempts to engage, but received no meaningful response Just today I was promised a phone call from a manager at 1pm (I have the call recorded!). No phone call. I was told the recalculation department would be in touch….nothing! No response to any of my emails bar a short reply that had absolutely nothing to do with the points I raised. Acorn…you’re a disgrace. I have avoided making this review in the hope that Acorn would do the right thing. I hoped that this was all a big misunderstanding. Sadly, today was the final straw. To be promised a phone call and not receiving it is utterly shameful Acorn. Deeply unprofessional, lacking respect for your customers and places me with no further option but to escalate to the financial ombudsman If you are considering using Acorn, I have one word of advice….DON’T!     STAY AWAY FROM THEM

    Took out car insurance with them, and they advertised it as not having any interest charges on the quote. After paying the initial premium deposit,... Took out car insurance with them, and they advertised it as not having any interest charges on the quote. After paying the initial premium deposit, I realised that the amount had changed, Unknown to me, they had added additional hidden charges. which they later tried to explain it as an "administration fee". How can there be a £250 admin fee when everything is online base with no one to speak to? This information was hidden, and when I tried to contact them, they dragged it on till 2 months, meaning I had no cooling off period. Worde insurance company in my opinion Read more Read less

I strongly advise drivers to carefully reconsider choosing this insurance company based on my recent experience. My vehicle theft claim with Acorn Insurance has been extremely disappointing, and the process appears unnecessarily prolonged. My claim was opened on 6 December 2025, and as of 13 February 2026, I have still not received a clear resolution or decision. From the very beginning, I provided all requested documentation, including the police report reference number, and fully cooperated with every request. All required support and information from my side were supplied promptly. Despite this, communication has been slow, updates have been limited, and progress on the claim seems stalled. The continued delays create the impression that the process is being extended rather than resolved efficiently, leaving customers under significant financial and personal stress after already dealing with vehicle theft. Insurance is meant to provide reassurance and timely support in difficult circumstances, but my experience has been the opposite. I hope the company improves its claims handling procedures so other customers do not face the same frustration and delays. Read more Read less
