A telephone banking service which refuses to answer the telephone

I am currently locked out of my account and cant use my card at all. I have tried to call 3 times and waited nearly an hour in total for someone to pick up phone. No chance of that is there. Trust pilot reviews reveal some customers wait for over an hour on a single call for that to happen and there are a plethora of complaints on the same issue. I have been a customer since day one but I recognise this is a Bank in serious decline who now holds its customers hostage. It's reply to customers complaints on Trust Pilot are similar to that of a dodgy tour company whose premises don't match up to the photographs. You cant even do a seven day switch because Al Rayan is not signed up to the service. I'm out of there ASAP. Great but!

Al Rayan offer great savings accounts with excellent profit rates (not interest) so it’s according to my faith and ethics. The bank is for everyone and anyone, not just Muslim customers as people may think. Having said the above I would not recommend their home purchase plans, I feel the conditions are ridiculously difficult and the overall cost is extortionate. Hence my title for this review….! My favourite bank

A good, reliable and efficient banking experience from Al Ryan. Customer service are quick to respond to any queries and always friendly and courteous. Their Easy Access accounts offer a good profit rate. Reviewed on: 17th March 2023

Consistently high interest rate on easy access savings

Excellent

Often up with leading rates, by regular adjustments, usually outperforming many savings platforms. I have both Easy Access and a Fixed Rate Bond. I also like the ethical investment common to Sharia banking. Reviewed on: 10th March 2023

Interesting Bank

I really like a bank that shares it's profit instead of assigning interest. I feel secure knowing that they abide by Sharia law even though I'm not Muslim. Reviewed on: 12th January 2023

shocking service

the senior management and the people who take the profits at the top should be embarrassed at what they put their staff through. the staff must have really thick skin to be dealing with complaints non stop, so, please let us not give them guys a hard time. what we should do is lodge complaints to the the banking and financial bodies in order to shut them down as clearly they are not providing the services they claim to do so. I won’t even mention what has been happening with me, I am just about to email the FCA and demand they investigate them. Reviewed on: 24th November 2022

Impossible to contact.

Opened account but could not access as it wanted user name and password that I had not been asked to provide. Requests to reset never answered. Spent 2 hours on phone - no answer. Am trying to close account and get my money back after 3 days!! Only way is to contact them by Mail Reviewed on: 28th September 2022
