Bicycle Accident

I had an accident with a bicycle pedal in May when holidaying in Spain. I thought that it would heal quickly and my July/August trip to Finland would not be affected. However, the wound did not heal well and I was still receiving daily treatment in the UK when my departure for Finland came around. I have an annual policy with Avanti and new that I would have to inform them of my situation in spite of making no claims on my travel policy (all my treatment in Spain was taken care of under my European Health Insurance Card - it won't be when Brexit takes place!). My GP confirmed that I was fit to travel to Finland although I would continue to require treatment for the wound (cleaning & dressing). The Avanti customer services representative contacted the insurance underwriters and confirmed that I could continue with the annual travel insurance without any increase in premium, although any claim relating to my Spanish bicycle accident would not be covered. I considered this to be fair. Again my European Health Insurance Card covered me for the treatment that I have been having in Finland (visiting local medical centre on alternate days), and the leg is finally getting better. Best holiday insurance ever.

I had great difficulty finding cover for serious pre-exhisting medical conditions until I eventually discovered Avanti Travel Insurance. Fantastic cover at a very reasonable price for year round insurance plus you get 3 months extra for no additional cost. Avanti is my “go to” company and I have recommended it to family and friends. First class experience

Contacted Avanti several years ago for advice and cover for my daughter who has Down’s syndrome, Diabetes, arthritis and is wheelchair bound. My wife also had two bouts of cancer and to top it all, I had a heart attack. Avanti gave first class advice about our trip to the States and covered all medical conditions.
