Flights cancelled

We were on holiday in India last year when as a result of lockdown all international flights were cancelled.. we paid for rescue Air India flights but Avanti explained that they could not pay for returning home on the rescue flights. Reviewed on: 2nd October 2021

My husband has several medical issues therefore feeling confident that holiday insurance is going to cover us IF the situation arises is imperative. Price comparable to most (better than some) but dealing with someone over the phone that seems to understand your responses, doesn’t mind constant questions and seems to value you as a customer is refreshing. We were supposed to be celebrating our Golden Wedding in May 2020. A grand trip to Canada, costing more than we usually spend on a holiday, was planned. Because of medical conditions we shopped around and got a quote for a single trip from Avanti. Once covid struck the trip was cancelled and rescheduled for 2021. It only took a phone call to change the cover, at no cost, to the new dates. When again this was cancelled another phone call to Avanti was made. This time we had to redo the quote. We were offered a 15 month policy, for not too much more than the new cost of a single trip, which we accepted. Insurance for us is always expensive, but Avanti are very competitive and you cannot fault their costumer service. Reviewed on: 2nd October 2021
