Everyday saver

Barclays saver is so handy. I'm saving for a holiday to Florida so as soon as I get a bit of spare money I use my Barclays app and pop some into my saving account. So handy to just move money around especially using the app. I also have a card so I can use in shops etc. Reviewed on: 18th December 2016

Transparent and customer service good

Excellent Mortgage Provider

The math doesn't add up !!

I have a savings accounts with Barclays and I was just monitoring how they calculate interest. I tried to check the calculation and to my surprise it was not matching. When I tried in all the possible ways of calculating interest and it didn't match to what I was getting, I called customer care. I asked them to help me understand the calculation and I was told that the calculation is all correct because the rep was sitting somewhere is far east and had a pre-fed calculator to check the math. I requested to explain me the formula but he failed. Then I asked for a manager and when i spoke to the manager, I came to know that the 0.90% APY is actually not 0.90% APY its 0.888896% APY and that my calculation on the amount is right. Easy to setup but poor rate

I've been using a Barclays e-saver account for several years. It's linked to my current account and I use the mobile banking app for day to day management of it, which is great. But whilst it's convenient, the rate offered on the account is poor, so as a result I only hold use it to hold a small amount of emergency funds necessary for urgent purchases. If the rate was better I'd move more money in here. Reviewed on: 30th August 2016

Difficulty in using the automated services my bank offers

I was more than fed up when my bank decided to stop having cashiers and go fully automated. Having just a savings book and no card I could no longer withdraw cash. Now I spoke to a banker and they offered to send me a card for the machine it came with a pin number within 2 days. I was really pleased with this I just wish I could also have an app on my phone to make transfers at home. Reviewed on: 28th March 2016

Flexible Saving

This account is great for flexible saving with easy access to your money, the only downside is that your are paid a higher rate of interest for the first month or so and then it is lowered to a much lower rate. Reviewed on: 12th February 2016
