Friendly staff helping with a joint borrower sole proprietor mortgage

Ian Birch, the mortgage adviser was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. One thing was irritating though: the society’s insistence that I obtained independent legal advice. This is clearly required simply to protect the society from accusations that their customers are not fully informed of the risks associated with the product. Spending £300 to have an independent lawyer (they won’t let you use the lawyer you are already paying to do the conveyancing!) tell you what you already know is irritating - I felt like I was having to pay to provide protection to the society in case of a future legal challenge. As it is the society’s risk, not mine, but they insist on me receiving advice I don’t need, I feel that they should pay for this, not me. Reviewed on: 12th June 2022

Buy for UNI Mortgage Application

The website gave a simple introduction to the product and on contacting Bath Building Society a very speedy initial evaluation of suitability /eligibility was conducted. The application process couldn't have been better. We were quickly in a position to commit to a purchase with an agreement in principle. We faced issues which caused delays along the way to completion but we were able to deal with them with the support of Bath Building Society and conclude the purchase rapidly at the end. Personal Underwriting from The Bath

On initially contacting this lender we were very pleasantly surprised at the direct and friendly nature of our conversation. Lo and behold the IT gremlins kicked in and that's understandable, even if its frustrating. Suffice to say we submitted online on the 13th May ( never thought of the date or its significance ) Today the 24th May I am told that it may be passed to an underwriter by Next MONDAY. At this rate my documents are in danger of running out of date. Sorry Bath Your end of year report reads . Showed a lot of initial potential, but unfortunately did not realise that potential.
