By Miles charge a fixed cost that covers a car while it’s parked. The rest is based on the actual miles driven. Customers can either plug in the matchbox-sized Miles Tracker, or for newer cars, you can connect By Miles directly with your car’s mileometer.

This car insurance policy is a breath of fresh air for the industry. Pay as you go for the miles you use keeping you in control is innovative. I was paying approx £750 a year previously . As a low mileage user I have saved myself a lot of money which has really helped in these uncertain times. Savings of around €350 - £400 a year is a great saving. The app is great and very transparent , you monitor the miles used and see how much the end of the month bill is - fantastic - I have advised all my friends and family to give it a go And would highly recommend to anyone. the Added bonus is you get a great reward of free miles if you recommend a friend and they take up the cover. I work in the insurance industry myself and feel this should be the way forward for all other car insurance companies to follow suit. Brilliant! Better option for insurance, especially since this pandemic, lockdown had occurred and I only use my car for a few minutes a day so couldn't figure out my annual mileage as our circumstances have changed. I was paying an extortionate amount to insure my car when my milage was below average. I moved over to by miles last year and my experience has been nothing short of smooth and enlightening. I was sceptical at first but the ease of plugging in the tracker and following my journeys and charges on the app has won me over. The customer service is exceptional. Totally different and unbeatable

I absolutely love everything about this company. Was so easy to get a quote, set up the necessary equipment and now see every journey I do. I’ve used my car so much less in lockdown and by miles has me thinking about which journeys I can do on foot rather than in the car too. The app is like nothing I’ve ever used for insurance and I feel like I am kept in touch with on a regular basis, rather than my money taken and then forgot about (which is my previous experience with many other providers!).
