By Miles charge a fixed cost that covers a car while it’s parked. The rest is based on the actual miles driven. Customers can either plug in the matchbox-sized Miles Tracker, or for newer cars, you can connect By Miles directly with your car’s mileometer.

Truly excellent insurance company

First of all is the low cost which cannot be beaten in my opinion. A very close second is the communication with the company which is second to none. Absolute genius way to insure your car! If you drive under 10,000 miles per year this is an excellent choice of insurance company as you only get charged for the miles you use. I personally save around £300 a year with this company and the App is excellent! You can use the App to monitor your miles, check your map, average speed and also as a car medic to check fault codes your vehicle may have like a diagnostics device. Everything was really simple and straight forward with setting up my insurance. I signed up pre Covid and have been amazed that as I’ve been shielding I’ve barely had to pay anything while my car has been sat on the driveway, only being driven around the block now and then for the batteries sake. I've been so impressed with how much I've saved by using By Miles and the way it helps track the mileage you do. Given I drive infrequently, By Miles makes much more sense than a blanket fee offered by other providers and being able to see how much each journey is costing me has actually incentivized me to drive even less and walk more! Excellent Modern Car Insurance

ByMiles is the only modern, fair and transparent car insurance company I have come across in 10 years of driving. Not only does the policy ensure unnecessary journeys are cut down it also reduces traffic, reduces pollution and reduces dangerous driving as the driving information could be shared with authorities if required. I drive occasionally and this is the first time I have managed to lower my premium significantly to reflect that. Also easy to keep track of business miles etc. I am more conscious of my driving habits now the insurance is an actual cost I'm doing fewer miles. Reviewed on: 29th July 2020
