By Miles charge a fixed cost that covers a car while it’s parked. The rest is based on the actual miles driven. Customers can either plug in the matchbox-sized Miles Tracker, or for newer cars, you can connect By Miles directly with your car’s mileometer.

Excellent - always an extremely swift reply to any concern/question. Online chat is a great idea, always feel in touch. Easy to install in my car (even for me!) and the app makes the whole experiment super simple. App also means I can keep track of how much I’ve driven/spent. We have a non typical situation where we tow our car behind a motorhome, the guys & gals in customer service are going out of their comfort zone to get us sorted & feeling wanted, they could have easily said " it doesn't work that way" but they are flexible & helpful - 5 stars! With insurance costs rocketing higher than any Saturn V rocket could take humanity, rocketing unchecked by any toothless ombudsman and rocketing to the precipice of legalised theft we finally have a company which is as refreshing to the industry as to the motorist. The insurance industry forgets its place: serve the motorist and provide peace of mind. Instead it exploits, extorts and extracts money which people work hard for to insure a motor. Along comes By Miles with a simple yet effective strategy to get the user to pay when using and not when not. How obviously sensible. How obviously popular and how obviously practical! In my 50's I refuse point blank to fork out £500 plus for car insurance. "NO! NO! NO! Not paying that.." with an excellent product from By Miles, I have reduced the insurance bill by 60%. By bringing more people to By Miles, I get rewarded and that further reduces my cost. My younger friends also have reaped the benefits. It is time to stop flexing the motorist and start servicing their needs. By Miles does just that. Long may they continue. Reviewed on: 10th September 2019
