By Miles charge a fixed cost that covers a car while it’s parked. The rest is based on the actual miles driven. Customers can either plug in the matchbox-sized Miles Tracker, or for newer cars, you can connect By Miles directly with your car’s mileometer.

Innovative and Accessable

Despite not having taken part in the trials I feel that the By Miles insurance approach will help more people access a more tailor-made policy; something that simply hasn't be available until now. In my case, I have a second car; a weekend/project car as well as my daily driver. I only cover About 2,000 miles a year in my second car and therefore only paying for the miles I'm actually driving would make a huge difference to me. So for people like me with a second car, or those who only drive on the odd occasion/cover very few miles per year, By Miles cover would make insurance much more accessible and I feel this innovative idea is certainly the way forward for modern motoring. I have read up on all information available regarding this company and I love what I can see. The idea of the insurance for the miles we drive rather than for we don't use it is very excellent for me personally- as a person who rarely uses her vehicle. Right, here we go. There's companies out there that pay for miles you use. Companies I rather not list for publicity purposes. So far, Miles has set out to achieve what other companies have yet to realise. Customer satisfaction. I sadly wasn't picked for the trial, but this company isn't out to get money, BUT to help me save ? It's that older generation who's trying to be cool and funky to keep up with the new generation. It adds the fun back into driving. That's what being a car insurance company is about. Keep it up, and the prices down lads. Gives me a chance to use that extra dosh for a cheeky kebab. Ray. The whole experience from start to finish was amazing I was kept up to date with everything that I needed to know and the system is so easy and effortless to use anyone of any age or background can use it and the app is very simple which means anyone can also use this which is a very unique thing to have within the current market of apps. Struggling to get insured. I passed my test and as a student insurance was just... unachievable! I come from a single parent family, with 4 siblings. Money is not freeflowing and rather tight. As such, ive had to make my own way in life. My grandad offered me his car. A relatively new (2010) little yaris, and i was super excited! However with insurance quotes coming in at 3-5 thousand pound thats would be knocking on using half the money i have avaliable to me per year! Ive done without and had to walk a 45 minute trek come sun or rain, knowing the only reason is the over priced insurance companies is the reason. 10 minute drive, 45 minute walk. So. it saved but...

i saved through just miles however i didnt get chance to do any long range journeys which i tend to do (through working too much) and if i had of done i dont think i would of saved at all. Reviewed on: 27th September 2017
