By Miles charge a fixed cost that covers a car while it’s parked. The rest is based on the actual miles driven. Customers can either plug in the matchbox-sized Miles Tracker, or for newer cars, you can connect By Miles directly with your car’s mileometer.

I used to have to shop around every year for a new quote, as the renewal fee rocketed. Now I don’t, as the renewal price is always super fair. If I’ve ever had to phone you speak to a human, always a very nice one, what’s not to love Reviewed on: 18th August 2025

Great for low milage users.

I don't drive very much so paying a large lump sum for my car to sit outside my house for weeks on end is such a waste of money, by miles only charges me fit my journeys which is great, much fairer for low milage customers. Reviewed on: 18th August 2025

Whenever I have had a problem then it was dealt with efficiently, promptly and courteously. So, when a moped deliberately ran into my vehicle, after an initial report the insurance company accepted I was not at fault and the staff showed an interest in pursuing the criminal. By Miles are really flexible, easy to contact and always friendly and helpful. I have had a few email conversations and my requests and queries have been dealt with swiftly and satisfactorily. The little 'black box' not only tracks my miles but tells me where the car is parked - this has been very helpful on a couple of occasions! Also there is a diagnostic tool on it which can tell me if there is something wrong with the car. Reviewed on: 17th August 2025

My car insurance

By miles allows me to pay my car insurance as I drive …. I don’t drive very often , I only use my car when necessary so for me this is a great way to be insured for a car hardly driven as compared to paying a yearly amount where I wouldn’t really get the full benefit of insurance so instead of paying a set amount either yearly or by DD I can be assured that if I haven’t driven for a while I won’t pay anything.
