At last a sensible approach to insuring a low-mileage vehicle

I need a large 4WD for winter bad weather and for occasional towing of a caravan or trailer, often relatively short trips. By Miles has cut my annual insurance for this vehicle by hundreds of pounds. Reviewed on: 16th August 2022

Great value so far.

Switched this year and really happy with how simple and fast it was to set up. We don't use our car that much so using Miles means if we are now paying less than our previous insurance. This is perfect for a low use car or second run around, but if you do significant mileage it might not work out cheaper, so it's best doing the math first. Reviewed on: 16th August 2022

Unexpectedly good

It is revolutionary, and has to be the future,

Paying by mile, (following a basic payment) really has to be the future of Motoring insurance. It gives me the option to save money and encourages me to use my bike or public transport. It was revolutionary and you have to compliment the ByMiles team for setting up such a new type of service. I’ve been with for a while and have seen their ingenuity and adaptability to find the right mix of the older insurance methods and instigating their new ideas of which included ensuring a high quality of customer service. I was banged in to by an uninsured driver, and recently had my car badly damaged in a CatCon theft. Both cases were eventually resolved amicably. The GPS unit they provide has other benefits in security, for instance if car is stolen. These are reason I intend to stick with ByMiles, but the added benefit for all is of course, encouraging members to be a sensible, responsible driver, in terms of safety and environmentally. So easy

My wife uses her car very infrequently so paying by mile is a real advantage,you can see exactly what your spending as you go and can even see the journeys undertaken, very good option for car insurance. Reviewed on: 16th August 2022

Amazing value, great customer service!

I am halfway through my first year with By Miles and it’s perfect for me! I wish I would have known about it sooner! I don’t do lots of miles so it seems really fair to have not pay for what I do, on my average mileage By Miles was over £200 cheaper than the next cheapest option. I am currently on maternity leave so doing a lot less miles due to not going to work every day. This is also working out even cheaper as I had a C Section this year and wasn’t able to drive, it was brilliant that I didn’t have to pay for insurance when I wasn’t using the car. When I first took out the policy I received a quote based on my details including my no claims discount, after purchasing the policy I received my no claims certificate from my previous insurer and it was higher than I initially thought. I contacted By Miles quickly and easily via the chat and they gave me a small refund on the park up fee and then reduced my fee per mile by 0.3p! I was so impressed with this, I was also not charged for this, I have previously been charged with other insurers for any minor amendments. I discovered By Miles via a comparison site, and I'm glad I did, as they saved me a ton of cash and enabled me the flexibility of spreading my payments especially in these trying times. Great idea of paying only when you drive, especially during these WFH. Reviewed on: 16th August 2022
