By Miles provide car insurance aimed at low mileage drivers.

By Miles charge a fixed cost that covers a car while it’s parked. The rest is based on the actual miles driven. Customers can either plug in the matchbox-sized Miles Tracker, or for newer cars, you can connect By Miles directly with your car’s mileometer.

Very convenient that you only pay for how much you drive. When I am on holiday or vehicle in for servicing I don't have to worry about my insurance as I am not driving the vehicle so I actually save a few pounds a month! Reviewed on: 16th August 2022

I love that it tracks my mileage without monitoring my driving. Fair coverage based on miles without invading privacy. Ive had to speak to customer services a couple times and theyve always been great. I wont be switching away anytime soon. Reviewed on: 16th August 2022

I do not know why all insurance is not like this

I’ve been insuring cars for the best part of a decade, and it has genuinely never been easier or more cost effective than with ByMiles. Firstly, as someone who averages <1500mi a year, I don’t know why I’ve never paid by the mile for insurance before. It has saved me hundreds of pounds vs what I used to pay. Another thing I’ve really loved about ByMiles is that you are fully in control with your spend. Their online dashboard is super intuitive and easy to use. It makes it so simple to plan journeys to estimate a cost (and it also factors in current petrol prices too so you get a comprehensive view of how much a journey will be). Getting the device delivered and installed was very easy. I did it myself in a matter of seconds (in the dark, whilst holding a torch in one hand - it’s really that simple). I’ve had telematics policies in the past and was pleased that ByMiles don’t charge an extortionate call out fee to fit their device. It’s all completely free! The customer service has been great too. It’s really easy to contact them (either by phone, email or live chat) and the help has always been great. Their staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. Things like registering my proof of NCB and amending my policy have been seamless, and I like how much you can do on their self-service portal. Reviewed on: 16th August 2022
