By Miles charge a fixed cost that covers a car while it’s parked. The rest is based on the actual miles driven. Customers can either plug in the matchbox-sized Miles Tracker, or for newer cars, you can connect By Miles directly with your car’s mileometer.

Cheapest quote by far I found during an internet search for full comprehensive cover. Only drawback is that you are not insured to drive other vehicles with their drivers permission but that’s not an insurmountable problem Reviewed on: 19th August 2025

Easy to contact someone if needed. I part exchanged my car with a garage around 200 miles away - swapping the insurance on my phone app while changing cars! That easy! By miles supplies all the easy to follow details on how to do it, you just follow the instructions. Much easier that trying to estimate the exact time your cover changes if you’re swapping vehicles on a normal policy (I assume, it’s a while since I last tried). I also like seeing how much I’ve spent during the month, you pay by how many miles you’ve done during the period making the bill much easier to afford paying monthly. an y queries I’ve made have been promptly and courteously answered too. I’m so impressed with By Miles car insurance as it makes an affordable option whereby I can pay for my trips whether it be personal or business mileage, the in car beacon is genius and also having the App makes my car insurance so easy to manage and takes the guesswork out, in fact i really don’t need to do anything at all plus I get an invoice each month and the customer service team is so helpful, I’ve already recommended By Miles car insurance to many family members and friends and definitely wouldn’t look anywhere else I’m a committed and happy By Miles customer Reviewed on: 19th August 2025
