Always fast transfers.

Unorganised and little to no consumer protection.

I used this bank for a while and thought that the cashback offer was really good. The fact that you could use your card abroad and incur no charges for doing so was great. HOWEVER. I was on holiday with my partner in Poland, where our drinks were spiked and a lot of money was taken from my bank account (done whilst I was unconscious, taking a series of payments using my phone to authenticate the Chase Googlepay card). Chase did not see that 6 or so transactions totalling nearly £1,000 was suspicious activity (and block or freeze my card which is what seems to be normal practice) and allowed this to continue. When I came around after being spiked the next day I had realised what had happened and called the bank immediately where they inclined that they may be able to reverse the transactions. After a series of police interviews later, Chase were contacting me through their app which was very unhelpful as it was a very repetitive process where I had to keep explaining my situation (which was not good to keep having reminders about the traumatic experience we had just had) to get assistance in retrieving the stolen money. After several hours of my time on holiday, they ruled it against me and allowed the transactions to continue - and did not appear to really care when I asked about their security and how this did not appear to be unusual (the payments taken from my account were quite large, all done within 40 mins and for the same amount). Overall, they are a very unhelpful bank, with terrible customer service, and bad internal communication. I was very surprised with how the whole thing was handled - having to keep repeating what had happened to us. I will never be using Chase for any of my banking ever again. no consumer protection and terrible customer service

My parter had nearly £1000 taken from his chase account in unauthorised transactions. We called chase as soon as we saw these, while the payments were still pending, and asked them to block the payments. They agreed to do so but then failed to suspend them and refused to refund the money even after we sent them copies of the police report detailing the crime. Reviewed on: 14th April 2024
