Collingwood provide insurance for learner drivers, taxi drivers and couriers.

New driver cover is only available to existing Collingwood learner driver customers after passing the practical driving test. Taxi insurance can be for annual or short-term cover and courier insurance cover is for food and parcel delivery drivers.

Initially cheap but will be penalised when you cancel as a result of passing your test

My son passed his driving test towards the end of the policy with a few months to run and so I allowed the policy to lapse - however it was cancelled before the end because of his passing - as such a cancellation fee is charged. This would have been charged if I had cancelled at the time of passing the test also so you are damned if you do and damned if you dont. I guess it was an extra way to squeeze out a little extra from you - any policy if you have taken out as a learner and pass would have to have this change so it seems a bit unfair that they make this charge under their small print Reviewed on: 13th October 2022
