Over Bureaucratic Process to Change Mandate.

We opened a Charity/Church Savings account in April by completing a 5 page application form. I recently contacted you to add a further signatory to the mandate. I was sent a simple “Change of Operator” form which was completed, signed by all signatories, and returned accompanied by a copy of the meeting minutes approving the change. I was then told I now have to fill in the full application form (5 pages) again and have it authorised by all parties. All of the financial institutions we deal with, except yourselves, allow registered signatories to authorise changes to the mandate. Why is Dudley Building Society so different? Why was I not notified of the full requirement at the time I initiated the change? The role of charities and trustees becomes increasingly challenging, not helped by overly bureaucratic procedures like this. I would like an explanation of why you are so out of step with your competitors. Reviewed on: 14th August 2024

Setting up the account felt rather old-fashioned...

Setting up the account felt rather old-fashioned with having to get ID verified on paper and completing the application on paper and by post, however, it was all completed and correctly. It would be nice if they could print on the back of the first page of the letter with the second half to save a piece of paper, or perhaps condense the correspondence to the essentials.
