Ethical, and so Supportive !

I love saving with a building society that does specific, practical things for the environment, and for housing (both so badly needed). Ethical - no investments in bombs or fossil fuels! The people who work for it are lovely! When I ring up to ask questions, I always get patient, friendly help and clear answers. Sure, the interest rate offered is modest - but this is outweighed by the peace of mind Ecology Building Society offers its customers. Reviewed on: 10th November 2024

Saving with a purpose, amazing people

Ecology BS is an organisation with a great purpose. It offers fair interest rates (even at a time of low rates elsewhere) backed up by great service. They keep in touch, telling members how the money is used. Reviewed on: 12th March 2022

Make your money do some good in this world.

Ecology provide a professional service. However, far more important in my view, you can be confident that your money is working to do good at some level. Compare that to most financial institutions that are only interested in making as much for their investors and themselves, irrespective of any concerns about ethics. Reviewed on: 12th March 2022

The Original Green Building Society

Long before it was 'trendy' to be green, the Ecology Building Society was working to encourage people to fund ethical projects. I've been with them for almost 40 years and they have consistently offered excellent service with a human face. You could always ring up and talk to a real person without waiting in a queue for an hour and they seem to go the extra mile to make sure that your queries have been satisfied.
