Ethical, and so Supportive !

I love saving with a building society that does specific, practical things for the environment, and for housing (both so badly needed). Ethical - no investments in bombs or fossil fuels! The people who work for it are lovely! When I ring up to ask questions, I always get patient, friendly help and clear answers. Sure, the interest rate offered is modest - but this is outweighed by the peace of mind Ecology Building Society offers its customers. Reviewed on: 10th November 2024

Ethical and efficient

I have been saving with the EBS since 2003. For all of that time I have had their Eco-60 savings account and in the past I have also invested in their Earthsaver Bond. Over the years I have paid in and withdrawn from my account and all transactions have been done efficiently. I have also attended some AGMs which are informative and enjoyable. an excellent ethical high quality service building society

I have had savings accounts with the EBS for about twenty years. The service has always been personal and excellent, with good rates of interest. I chose the EBS because it is ethical and working to promote environmental sustainability in every aspect of its work - not only the services it provides, but in how it provides those services . A good place to put your money.

I've been a member of the Ecology for more than twenty years. They offer consistently decent, straightforward savings accounts and excellent customer service: you feel you genuinely are treated as an individual. Their publicity and advertising material avoids the over-heated hype and the slyly ingratiating style of so many financial institutions. And, as a saver, it's good to know that your money is helping support imaginative, green, building and renovation works across the country. Finally, it's worth noting that while the Ecology's senior management are not underpaid, they don't receive the obscenely inflated salaries awarded to the executives of most UK mutuals. I suspect that's something that a lot of the Ecology's members appreciate. Reviewed on: 8th April 2021

A very easy way to try and make a difference

Ecology provide a fairly unique service to UK banking customers and I am very happy with how they have treated me over the last 15+ years. I wish more banks would follow in their ethical footprints. Quick with decent interest and great newsletter

Quick with decent interest and great newsletter I have been a saver with the Ecology for over ten years, holding a savings account and more recently, taking out a cash is a. The society is small but well managed by a dedicated hands on team whom we pay normal salaries and benefits to without the city of London :bs. There is constantly more demand for savings inflow and thr board have been very careful to slow the rate of mortgage growth to reflect demand and continue paying pre crisis interest rates. Easy to deal with paper forms in post, by phone or online. I attended one AGM, a good few years ago when it was in my locale (I'm London based) and greatly enjoyed it. Reviewed on: 7th April 2021
