Review of the Go Girl, Car insurance:

Huge hidden costs - bullying attitude to customers

1
Whilst the may appear to come out well on price caparison websites they are hidden costs which are not apparent initially. Every change to the policy has a premium cost which is not explained well - even to remove a named driver and twice they have threatened to cancel my policy. Like another reviewer when my daughter passed her driving test the charges were extortionate so I said I would just take her off. They then still wanted to charge me a ridiculous amount and said if I did't pay it my policy would be cancelled - even though she wasn't ever going to drive the car. There attitude can only be described as bullying. They supply very poor customer service and fail to explain all the hidden charges which are many. I would never use them again. Outrageous

I would advise everyone to think twice before setting up car insurance with this company. The customer service is awful but that's just one thing. When i was setting up the insurance, the lady on the phone talked to me like shit and she actually hung up on me DURING the transaction which was..a bad start. We paid 1420 pounds for 12 months insurance. After 3 months we moved to a new location. When we sent them an email to update them on our new adress, they sent a really unfriendly email, saying that we need to pay an extra 540 pounds (!!!) because the new location falls under a different premium. It was odd as the area was way less busy and now we had our very own garage and the whole building has cctv surveillance. I called them and asked what the extra is for, they said it's the policy. I asked loads of questions to which the response was "this is the policy". After this, I visited their website to check the new price for this location. It was odd to see that the price for a new insurance is £1420. I guess the extra £500 got lost somewhere with my faith in the company attached to it. I called them again and questioned this, but of course the response was that..this is the policy. I asked the lady whether she realises that it is cheaper for me to cancel my insurance and get a new one, even with with them, of course the answer was "this is the policy". So I cancelled my insurance and found another offer for £700 for 12 month. I guess I should thank go girl for saving me money but no. Fck this company. Reviewed on: 28th February 2019

Poor all round

1
Just now Terrible customer services Terrible customer services, rude staff and extortionate prices for a late payment. Double what banks charge. Their staff refused to offer me any assistance and even went so far as to argue with me. Cannot wait till the policy expires and I do not have to use them again. AVOID AT ALL COSTS..... Easy to set up not good when you claim

So your car gets stolen and recovered by Police, needs to be assessed, no problem you can get a courtesy car..... you think. Well we haven’t assessed it yet so courtesy car doesn’t kick in until the damage is assessed, a week later still not assessed. No car, no follow up phone calls, you have to chase them. Bad enough having your car stolen, you expect your insurance company to be there for you. Reviewed on: 9th October 2018

Avoid, Avoid, Avoid!

Avoid! We insured a car for my 19 year old daughter, the price was expensive though we had no option but to pay for a new driver, she then moved less than 6 miles to be closer to student accommodation while at university, we were faced with not only a £25 admin increase (fair enough) though an additional over £700, yes, £700 added to the policy to cover the period from September 2018 - May 2019, this £700 is the equivalent of a full year, we do not live in areas which are considered as "high risk" for insurance purposes, they gave us 7 days to respond or risk loosing the policy and not being insured, the telesales member of staff was absolutely useless, Insurance Ombudsman will be hearing from us. CANCELLED MY POLICY WITHOUT wARNING

1
I had a policy with go girl and my sister got one too for my car so she could learn to drive, we hadn’t realised you can’t have two policies but now we do. They EMAILED us to tell us my sister needs to cancel hers in seven days or I’ll lose mine. So my sister rang up to cancel her side as we know know two policies is not aloud. Not only did I get a £45 card charge, but my insurance got cancelled because I MYSELF didn’t ring up! We were only told my sister should call so that’s what we did, having good faith that my policy would continue. They cancelled my policy without telling me so I had not been aware I was not insured! I am absolutely devastated and broken by this, I had paid my insurance annually and my 3 years no claims was about to come through on the 1st of April! I’ve now lost a year of no claims, got no insurance on my car because they cancelled it and I have no money back. As a student nurse money is tight and I now have to ask family members for help. How is email official communication?????? You wouldn’t email a company to cancel insurance? In fact I wasn’t even told it would be cancelled. They should have called me! I’m now stuck in their vicious loop. The manager was un helpful and didn’t want to know so I will try and call tomorrow and reason with them for at least some sort of partial refund and cover letter. Only checked the policy because of the £45 card charge... this company is vile. Reviewed on: 10th March 2018

DANCING WITH THE DEVIL

JUST BECAUSE IT'S CHEAP IT DOESN'T MEAN IT'S LEGIT!!! MASSIVE LESSON LEARNT WITH THIS COMPANY!! Got insurance out with go girl on my first car after being with a different insurer for a year. Purchased a different car and changed over vehicles over the phone along with other details including informing them that I am no longer a student I am working now and will be using the car to get to work and back, fully comp, courtesy car, I made sure I had the lot. Unfortunately I got into an accident a little over 3 months later (March 2015), when it came to the claims Go Girl where no were to be seen. I had not received any paper work or emails from them upon signing up for the insurance, which I understand I should have chased up, but seeing as my direct debits were coming out fine I thought all was well...however they informed me after reporting the accident that I was not entitled to a courtesy car as my vehicle was a write off even though I had added courtesy car as an extra and I had been paying the extra £25 a month for it!!! They also informed me that I was not covered at the time of the accident because I did not have commuting on my policy as the accident occurred whilst I was coming from work EVEN THOUGH 3 MONTHS PRIOR I HAD CHANGED ALLLL OF THAT. Go Girl literally dropped me and my case without an apology what so ever! The guy who was apparently the manager even laughed at me on the phone when I cried after he told me "you're all alone on this one love". I then had to carry on paying the insurance policy until it ended 5 months later though the vehicle was sat somewhere in bits! A lady on the phone told me that if I didn't debt collectors would be sent to me and they'd even take my belonngings. I lost my job, ended up in a financial mess and suffered injury due to the accident resulting in 7 months of physiotherapy and acupuncture. I was put into such an emotional turmoil by the situation, luckily through advice from someone in passing 2 weeks after the accident I contacted a company called Accident Exchange, who were professionals (unlike these thieving *insert whatever word/s comes into your mind*)they took my case on. The case lasted 2 years of back and fourth, with Go Girl refusing to intervene or show any support or communication and a total of £78000 in hire cars! Oh I loved driving brand spanking new Mercs, BMWs, Audis, Golfs and Fords. But the stress of having car change overs every 3 months and paranoia of damaging a vehicle that doesn't belong to you definitely heavily outweighed the joys of driving around in fancy cars! All these were charged to the third party. A split second choice of choosing Go Girl on confused.com caused me and my family so much difficulty and stress. Everyday I wished I had gone for a proper company. Unfortunately like every other incompetent and dodgy insurance company out there Go Girl took the easy way out! They knew the case would be hard going and did not want to be involved. I tried to make a complaint to the management but my complaint was just dismissed and again I was laughed at. Be very weary if you go with this company, do all your homework! Bite the bullet, pay the extra and go with a known legitimate company. I used a website called reviews.co.uk to post this very same review, only to receive a threatening 4 page letter from a member of staff basically warning me off any further reviews or complaints as they had seen my review, funny how they were fast to make contact and dig up my policy details. Pure bullies!! They said this would be the last time they contacted me regarding this issue...after how many years of not contacting me go girl?? They also cockily attached a leaflet for making complaints via the ombudsman. These guys are so twisted they will basically tell you you the earth is flat no arguement!! Appalling service and very unethical

Copy of email sent to MD says it all really Subject: Complaint Re Policy Number 00-0WKX2 3PC01 Go Girl Dear Mr Carter, I am writing to complain about the unacceptable business practices your company has and more seriously the rude and patronising female Manager called Jamie in your Romford Customer Service Office. My wife took out a policy with you only today, in fact less than 12 hours ago and at the time as we have both been subject to identify fraud we selected that we were not prepared to provide our driving licence details which your system accepted. 2 hours ago we received an email asking us to provide those details which we are not prepared to do for the advised reason so rang to cancel the policy. Here the problems and totally unacceptable behaviour of the person we spoke to dwarves even the sharp and unethical business practices your company and I think it would be of great benefit if the call was downloaded and listened too and Jamie advised that as a manager her behaviour was patronising and unprofessional and does your companies already shabby reputation no favours. When advised that I was not prepared to provide my driving licence details she advised I could cancel and that there would be an administration fee. When I challenged that how could this be the case as the policy was less than 12 hours old and you had failed to honour the quote that was accepted after we had refused to provide our driving licence details she then continued to talk over me without even listening to what I was trying to say. You will here from the call Just how unacceptable that call was and it was only when I requested to speak to a manager did she advise she was one and that no I couldn’t speak to anybody else. You will hear from her voice she is cocky, rude and patronising which I know the Financial Ombudsman takes a dim view of and if she is actually a manager and you condone her behaviour I can’t think that your attempt to list on the stock exchange is going to go well if customers are still subjected to the type of behaviour she has just shown to me. I request that you refund me in full and also refund the administrative fee that Jamie insisted that we pay without listening to what we had to say and for the absolutely shocking customer service that she provided. If the fees in full are not refunded nor do you address my complaint against the false information that you provided that my driving licence details would not have to be provided when the policy was being taken out via the Internet I will take my complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service where I will seek further compensation to cover my costs and time which I will invoice you for at the rate of £100 plus vat per hour. So far this evening I have spent over 1 hour on this matter when I have better and more important things to do but as a gesture of goodwill on my part I will not charge you for but rest assured further communication caused by your failure to deal with this matter will be charged at the advised rate. I also wish to have a written apology for the absolutely shocking way I was spoken to and constantly talked over by Jamie the Manager and an assurance that your online service will be clearer that if a driver does not want to provide their drivers licence and you accept that at the time of purchase it cannot be changed at a later date. I am aware that you have up to 8 weeks in which to respond to this complaint but as a courtesy I will expect an acknowledgement of my complaint within 2 working days and an estimated time as to when any response to my complaints will be received. Yours sincerely Reviewed on: 16th November 2017
