A trusted friend!

I’ve been with credit union since 2013 and can always rely on the staff being friendly, helpful and honest. Being with credit union has had many positive benefits for me and after a while I managed to save with them too - something I didn’t think would be possible when I first opened my account and took out a loan. An individual, not a number!

I found out about the Credit Union whilst in financial straits. Only required a small loan for a short period of time at a reasonable rate. The larger institutions kept trying to make me take a larger amount, which I didn't want or need. Or were charging exorbitant rates of interest. I was able to go into the office to talk about my situation. Ask as many questions as I needed. At no point was I being rushed into making a decision which may have been to my detriment. I was an individual, not a number! Since that time, I save a small amount each month. Which enables me to pay for unexpected expenses or even days out. Great place to save.

Thanks to Great Western Union I have been able to save for things instead of getting a loan every time. They helped me out with quite a few loans which was brilliant at the time with their easy payments I have managed to pay off the loans and save a little which means hopefully no more loans for me but if I did need to borrow some money in the future I would certainly ask my credit union for a loan. So Helpful

It was a couple of weeks before Christmas and I realised there would not be enough money to make Christmas, ‘Christmas’ for the family. With very tightly crossed fingers I put in an application to Great Western, fully expecting a thank you but, no. To my delight they said yes! I have spent the last few months repaying and am nearly there. They made our Christmas even better. Thank you GWCU. Accepts loans when they want to!

Accepted my first loan when credit rating was bad was very appreciative, applied for another after paying off more than half and they declined saying it’s because of my credit rating yet my credit rating was/is a lot better since I got the first loan! Excellent support and customer service

My overall experience was excellent! It was pre-COVID-19. I had just lost my brother and had no money. I was able to be granted a credit union loan (despite my not so good credit record ) for the funeral of my late brother. A very affordable re-payment plan was set up for me that enabled me to pay back the money quickly and best of all, without any stress or unnecessary chase. My overall experience was simply great.
