Slow and Cumbersome

Pour communication, the online loan application says they will telephone or email for any further detail. They requested detail via post, which did not arrive even after 7 days. Email is more reliable than the postal service and also legally binding. After telephoning the bank they told me to send in further information confirming my address which later they informed me they did not require, but then asked for a bank statement. We live in the 21st century people don't receive hardcopy statements or utility bills anymore and getting them is costly. 7 days passed, so using the next loan provider on GoCompare they turned the loan around in 48 hours with no issues. This process has cost me the same amount in savings that IKANO offered against the next loan provider. I have no CCJs and an excellent credit history with a good income with no large outgoings, so why had this got be so painful for a reasonable sized loan?? IKANO should request via email or phone all decision making documents with in the first 24hours. Reviewed on: 28th April 2016

Again and again

I've used Ikano bank for several personal loans and always found them to be spot on. Rates are low and Repayments are flexible. I've always paid my loans off before the original term and there are no charges to do that. Customer service has always been great and they don't mither you with emails or texts. The worst bank to deal with

Horrific

I want to advise everyone to stay away from this company as I do not think anyone should have to go through the stress and upset I am currently experiencing with them now! I took out a 4 year loan with in 2014, I paid the agreed amount every month without fail. My contract was finished in 2018 and my final payment was made. I then moved the later received a letter from a debt collection company (Lowell) stating I was still owing £124! This was incorrect! I gathered all my bank statements and I had actually over paid! After years being messed around trying to contact someone who would help me clear my name I eventually spoke to someone in 2020 (please note the time scale here!) Who confirmed the debt had been reported wrongly and it would be corrected and I would receive confirmation of this in writing and a manager would phone me directly. Obviously this NEVER materialised, I phoned again in Febuary and was advised once again confirmed this was the case even though my credit score was still showing the same problem. I was told it would be updated and corrected at the end of Feb, once again surprise surprise this never happened. I called on the 18th of March and was told by Esme this should have been sorted and she would chase it up - telling me AGAIN I was not a fault! I phoned today as I had still not received the call from a manager or a written confirmation only to be told by Zigara my file would not be updated and the debt was correct WHICH IT IS NOT! WHAT AM I MEANT TO DO NOW! I have all the evidence to prove I am the victim here although Ikano seems to have no intention of admitting and correcting this! I only write this here today as a last resort as this problem is now affecting my life as I cannot get a mortgage because of Ikanos incompetence! Ikano get this sorted!!! I am waiting on a severe apology, and believe I should be refunded the money I have had to pay out checking to see if you had actually done your job which you did not!!! Never trust

Very disappointed in them. Canccelled my carpet order from SCS but they never told Ikano bank. Took months to sort and stayed in contact with Ikano throughout and they told me they would freeze any action. Went back on their work and destroyed my credit rating culminating in my bank slashing my credit card limit which I need for work causing me major problems. Reviewed on: 26th November 2020

No Answers after 7 months

Trying to call to change DD details, gave up after 4 months of trying and just left the old account open as they did not come over in the DD guarantee as they are not signed up for it. Now trying to pay off my loan and again, 2-3 hour waits twice a week for over 3 months now and still never got an answer. Starting to think there is noone there to even answer the phone. Hope less

I took out a loan for loft insulation, firstly the account did not give me access I tried ringing but only got automated messages telling me to go to the help centre, which was no help. Any phone numbers merely referred me to the the useless on line help page. Reviewed on: 28th September 2020

What a waste of time and (our money)

Wanted to buy a kitchen from Ikea....had a 400 mile round trip to our ‘local’ one...wanted to take advantage of 3 years interest free loan, but Ikano wanted more information/(even though both of us have an excellent credit rating). Left without purchasing kitchen. Paperwork finally arrived, wanted original bank statements (have banked online for 20 years) so no original statements and only bank that could verify us was another 400 mile round trip away. Finally managed to get accepted. Made appt to sign off paperwork (another 400 mile round trip)....appt cancelled as all Ikea stores closed before lockdown in 2020. Loan offer expired during lockdown. Went back down once stores were open, and they are asking for everything again, despite having previously approved it. Ironically, both of us are key workers and worked throughout lockdown period on full pay. No kitchen no loan. Would avoid them at all costs. We are £300 poorer in fuel and hotel costs to try and get this sorted. Beyond angry and frustrated. Reviewed on: 18th July 2020

Absolutely awful

Absolutely awful . My son applied for a personal loan to purchase a car , had numerous emails and texts advising that his loan had been approved and all checks confirmed. Signed all agreements. Received a text at 1305 to advise that money would be transferred to him within 2 hours . He Borrowed the money temporarily from family to get car within dealers opening hours as money would be with him within 2 hours . No money by 1730 so called them and was advised his loan had been withdrawn, no explanation or apology. He has family to pay back within 2 weeks and His not sure what to do. Absolutely outrageous

Got a loan with ikarno, and through out this time I have had late payments when I’ve paid on time , £12 or£25 or sometimes both , I was not informed of these charges they was just put on my overall amount , when I call to sort something out , I am given false information EVERY TIME , I get told I am on the wrong payment plan and have to pay more , staff are incompetent and clueless managers are even worse , they don’t call you back like they say , they sent me letters saying I breached my agreement and I haven’t. , wouldn’t recommend to my worst enemy, absolutely taking this further !!!
