Wouldn't pay out for anything

There was no point in getting travel insurance with these guys. My boyfriends dad died while we were travelling, they wouldn't pay for his travel home to get back for the funeral. I needed emergency dental treatment; I sent the forms in which they claim to have never received, so I sent again at which point they said it was too late. Reviewed on: 20th August 2018

Good company,paid out on a medical issue i had,

I was on holiday in Turkey and was ravaged by the local mosquitoes who took an extreme liking to blood, ..during the night i must have got eaten alive and got several bites on my face,one too close to my eye. ,I had to go to hospital and was put on a drip and told if the bite burst i was at risk from poision going behind my eye and causing problems. So after a night in hospital and them squeezing the bite every 30 mins (it was huge) ..as soon as i was sorted that next day and i stocked upon allsorts of repellemts.....i also contacted insure and go, who were very helpful and we had the issue sorted within 20 minutes .... after that scare, the rest of the holiday went without a hitch...id defo use Insure and Go again and would also recommend for theyre cheap affordable products and great customer service Reviewed on: 18th July 2017

Used you for years - the first time I claim, you let me down.

I've been using this company for over ten years, mostly for backpacker insurance. This year my room in Goa got broken into, and some cash and an iPad was stolen (fortunately not my passport!). I did all the right things: got a police report (a major pain in India); submitted my claim; provided extra details when requested. It was then that I found out that cash is only covered if it is held in a safe. While this may be practical staying in certain countries, establishments aimed at backpackers - especially somewhere like India - do not provide safes. This information was buried deep in the small print. My sister works for an insurance broker, and even she didn't spot this when I asked her to look over the policy. I felt cheated, and will never ever use this company again. As backpacker insurance, the policy was not fit for purpose. Bad show, insureandGo. Very disappointing. Reviewed on: 29th August 2016
