Review of the InvestEngine, Investment Platform:

Use of SIPP

5
I have used their SIPP, which I think is very simple to use and both their website and mobile app is very good. I have been using the "Savings Plan" which I think is very useful as I do not need to make any active transfers. However one drawback is it does take a few days for the money to be transferred to my account and invested, whereas with my ISA with Trading212, I can set up a standing order where the money appears in my account within a couple hours. Sure! I've used InvestEngine for a while now, and overall, it's been a solid experience. One of the things I really appreciate is how cost-effective it is—there are no platform fees, and ETF trades are commission-free, which makes a big difference over time. I started with a DIY portfolio because I wanted more control over my investments. The platform offers a great selection of ETFs, and the interface makes it easy to build and rebalance your portfolio. Plus, they have some useful automation tools, like auto-invest and dividend reinvestment, which help keep things running smoothly without too much hands-on management. The managed portfolios are also a nice option if you prefer a hands-off approach. I tested one out just to see how it compares, and it’s well-structured with different risk levels. The fact that they don’t charge extra management fees (outside of ETF costs) makes it very competitive. One thing I’d say is that while InvestEngine is great for long-term investing, it’s not designed for active traders—there’s no instant trading or real-time pricing. But for a long-term investor focused on ETFs, it’s hard to beat the low costs and ease of use. Security-wise, it’s FCA-regulated and covered by FSCS protection, so I’ve felt confident keeping my investments there. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable and efficient way to invest in ETFs. Reviewed on: 20th February 2025
