Good Quote, but rubbish customer service

I took out medical cover travel insurance for my husband for a cruise we were going on in December 2016. To keep the cost down I went for a policy with a £75 excess. My thinking for this was I would be more than happy to pay £75 if per chance he took unwell whilst on board ship. Part of the deal we had with the cruise company we had one night in a hotel in Barcelona. Hotel was based in La Ramblas and it was a good hotel. Never for one minute did I think my husband would have his backpack stolen whilst sitting in the Hotel restaurant! , but that is what happened. We had to replace the medication stolen. My claim was for £88.48, but with a £75 excess that left my claim total of £13.48. First they said they did not receive my paperwork, but would get someone to phone my back, which they never. Luckily I had proof the documents had been sent and when I phoned them back and said so, he presto they found my claim forms. Next they gave me back £9:05 so again i had to phone back and point out to them I had with my claim forms given proof by a copy of my credit card statement that I should have been given £13:48. I have just heard that they now acknowledge the underpayment, but I am still waiting on the £4:43 to hit my bank account. I also had non medical insurance with another company and was paid within one week. Will never use Just Travel again. Reviewed on: 12th February 2017

Just what we wanted

Very poor claim handling

I had to make a claim on our policy. The claim should have been dealt with within 5 working days after receipt of the claim. It took nearly 2 months following numerous calls and emails for it to be dealt with, and the resulting complaint to a further 6 weeks. Avoid. Reviewed on: 7th October 2022

Easy to navigate website, good cover, fair prices

Overall excellent value and service.

Just Travel are easy to deal with and excellent value for money for those of us over 80. I had cause to contact when National Express off loaded my case at the wrong stop and customer services were most helpful. In the event I didn’t need to use them as National Express fully compensated me. Reviewed on: 7th October 2022
