I have had one of these with the Leeds for many years now. The savings rates have always been very good. OK, the savings do build up slowly, but with good rates its worth the effort every month. I have usually 'phoned when I've had a problem or enquiry and the staff have been very helpful and friendly. I registered for online banking a few weeks ago. Then they started to change their security system and chaos ensued. I shall have to 'phone those helpful staff again, alas.

terrible legal service

My view of Leeds mortgage service is badly affected by the terrible service by TCS the law firm that LMS gave me. Leeds had the survey done quickly and approved the mortgage very soon after. Now 10 weeks later the LMS customer service seem incapable...

My view of Leeds mortgage service is badly affected by the terrible service by TCS the law firm that LMS gave me. Leeds had the survey done quickly and approved the mortgage very soon after. Now 10 weeks later the LMS customer service seem incapable of getting the law firm to get a move on. I would definitely not use Leeds again or if I did use my own solicitor to do the legal work

My mortgage was intitially set up by a broker but I have recently changed tariffs and the customer service team were helpful in setting up a mortgage appointment, even noticing my recent birthday. I then received a call from an advisor on time on the allocated day. She went through everything with me in a calm and collected manner which made it easy to understand the different options available to me. I was made to feel like it was important the product was right for me instead of trying to sell me the highest priced product. Overall I was impressed by the service from Leeds Building Society.

Their custom services requests are forwarded to LMS - their subsidary to deal with mortgages. Never waited less than 30 minutes to in a queue to speak to somebody. At the end the person was very polite, but absolutely...

Their custom services requests are forwarded to LMS - their subsidary to deal with mortgages. Never waited less than 30 minutes to in a queue to speak to somebody. At the end the person was very polite, but absolutely unhelpful.

The only way to move things forward was to raise a complaint. Even with a complaint the provided service was very poor.

Their comunication with the solicitors appointed by them was close to being funny. Mistakes were made at the every stage of the process, costing quite a lot to the customer.

I have a Regular saver account with Leeds Building Society. They wrote to me about two months ago to advise that the account was to be withdrawn. then reminded me about 4 weeks later -advising that i couldn't deposit any more money and what steps to take - cancel direct debits etc. They also advised of the new account that they would be bring ing out. Staff in branch were very helpful and knowledgeable and at no point was i pressured to open another account (but I did!)

Gives you a chance !

Helpful for shared ownership mortgages, one of the few places I could get one ! The rent throws the affordability calculator out of whack for most of the other banks which sucks as the point of shared ownership is meant to get you in the door. However...

The rent throws the affordability calculator out of whack for most of the other banks which sucks as the point of shared ownership is meant to get you in the door. However interest is higher than other banks but I guess that's the price you pay!

AVOID paid deposit and another three 'lump sums'

All is well once they get you on board. Requested 3 lump sum payments over the course of a few months on top of a huge deposit and near the end of the completion date for our home. Complete shambles of a company and would advise to invest your money...

Complete shambles of a company and would advise to invest your money elsewhere. Such a stressful time dealing going with this company. Really not worth it. Really slow incompetent staff who will request this, that, even though its been submitted. Would stay away

Few bumps along the way

We recently set up a mortgage with Leeds. Good points - they gave us a decent rate with a low deposit which helped us buy our dream house! Downsides - everything took forever, I mean months to sort out and they didn't set up our mortgage payments...

We recently set up a mortgage with Leeds. Good points - they gave us a decent rate with a low deposit which helped us buy our dream house! Downsides - everything took forever, I mean months to sort out and they didn't set up our mortgage payments properly.
Having said that the people on the phone are helpful and polite
