'Julia' exemplifies their poor service

1
As of today, their portal for personal pensions is showing only a few day's performance history. Like since 18th December. 'Julia' informed me the valuation was "only for the current day" (obvs, duh) and that the performance history was given for a year. Duh. It's normally give years - currently more like 5 days AS I ORIGINALLY SAID. So, I explained I was unhappy with such a paltry, uninformed sound bite and asked Julia to escalate it as a formal complaint. She gave me the email address but no further help. She even stopped signing her messages - so unprofessional, Julia. Reviewed on: 28th December 2023

Terrible service, kept waiting for weeks, still waiting

1
Employer sold our pensions to L&G so no choice in provider, money invested in safe options now worth substantially less than I put in, appulaing delays of weeks to speak to anyone for anything beyond a general enquiry. Pension annuity offered by their uninterested rep on phone was about half what my advisor was quoted. Avoid at all costs Reviewed on: 22nd November 2023

useless, slow, inefficient and obstructive

1
If you send them an email, this is the reply you get : Thank you for contacting Legal & General Workplace Pension... We aim to respond to your email within 20 days. That summarises their level of customer service. Anything that requires 2 or 3 emails could take 60 days / 2 months to resolve. Despite providing clear instructions, they will try to find a reason to delay and delay and delay. Reviewed on: 15th November 2023

Appalling

1
Do not use this company, no one seems to know what their doing, I’ve received the most appalling service I’ve ever received, they make promises they can’t keep, I’ve been promised time and time again that I would receive my pension fund, still waiting for nearly a month now, I’ve had to call every day to be told different things, it’s made me ill, and very stressed Reviewed on: 20th September 2023

Bad pension fund management

1
I had my works pension with Aviva up until early 2022 and it was doing rather well, but for some reason my employer decided to move all our company pension schemes to the L & G Mastertrust scheme. Since then it has under performed and I am now down £9k on my total pension savings with no growth whatsoever! I understand that pensions can go down, but each week it can go down around £1000 in a couple of days, which never happened at all with Aviva. Although the website is very good with lots of information I have to question the people who manage these funds?. Not happy with the situation as I am now near to retirement, I would have got more money putting it into ISA's!. No doubt the stock answer from L & G would be that I am responsible for my own investments even though I pay management fees to them. Reviewed on: 6th September 2023

Do NOT trust Legal and General with you Pension

1
Avoid Legal and General at all costs. This company has NO customer service, very unprofessional and incompetent. You really do not want a company like that to manage your pensions… I want yo transfer out my pension to another provider, Legal and General is taking months to process the request, it has taken about 15 calls, many emails, complaints, many documents sent, and after all that they are unable to let me know what the status is, what the next steps are, and how long will take for them to review my documentation. It should be illegal for a company like Legal and General to operate treating consumers this way… Customer should not be felt completely left in a limbo about their pensions. There are other providers that are much more efficient and that provide better return for your pension. Reviewed on: 3rd April 2023

Great service

Great service from L&G. Easy to use website & good products. Reviewed on: 1st March 2023

Private Pensions

I hold 2 investment products with L&G and find it easy to navigate through my products using their website and they also give me the option to change my assets or strategy via their website. Overall great services and they could offer an app for the clients to navigate and make changes to products too. Reviewed on: 1st February 2023
